WHERE TO STAY &THINGS TO DO
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
San Diego has a few different vibes, so where you stay really depends on what you’re looking for. We’ve listed our recommended areas below to help you find the best fit!
-
Where we first moved in together, PB is San Diego’s lively beach neighborhood, known for its mix of locals, surfers, and visitors. You’ll find plenty of bars, casual eats, and coffee shops just steps from the ocean.
Grab a morning coffee at Better Buzz Coffee Roasters and stroll the boardwalk, watch surfers at Tourmaline Surf Park, or head to Mission Bay for a calmer waterfront walk.
HOTEL RECOMMENDATION: Pacific Terrace Hotel

Downtown has several awesome neighborhoods close to the wedding venue and perfect for exploring!
Little Italy is our top pick, with walkable restaurants, coffee shops, and wine bars, just a 5-minute drive from the venue. Check out Vino Carta if you’re in the mood for wine!
East Village is great for food lovers. Lola 55 and Izola Bakery are some of our favorites!
If you’re downtown, take a waterfront walk through Seaport Village to the USS Midway Museum. You won’t regret it.
HOTEL RECOMMENDATION: The Westin Gaslamp Quarter

These neighborhoods are considered some of San Diego’s “hip” areas thanks to their walkable streets, great food, cozy coffee shops, and local bars.
University Heights is calm and cute with excellent food and drink spots. We love Pop Pie Co., Stella Jean’s Ice Cream, and Clos Wine Shop (our favorite wine bar. Please tell them Alex & Alex sent you)!
North Park is more lively, especially on weekends. Check out Part Time Lover, The Taco Stand, or Happy Medium.
South Park is quieter with a cozy feel. Favorites include Mothership, Fernside, Ruby’s Big Kitchen, Seven Seas Roasting Co., Harland Brewing, and The Rose Wine Bar.
HOTEL RECOMMENDATION: The Lafayette Hotel
